Open When It Matters Most Sarah R. had just arrived at her Scottsdale, AZ, vacation rental after a long day of travel. In the weeks planning for the trip, Sarah checked (and double checked) that the rental would have a pack-and-play for her little one. But when they arrived, it wasn’t there. She called the closest Target store 15 minutes before it closed, hoping for a miracle. Sammy M. and the rest of our team at T-1327 Far North Scottsdale did one better. They pulled the pack-and-play and staged the checkout for a quick transaction once Sarah arrived. “As the store director, it fills me with so much pride that Sammy and team know the importance of taking care of our guests — that they show up every day with it top of mind.” —Kinsey K., store director, T-1327 Far North Scottsdale When Sarah pulled up well past closing time, our team was outside cheering for her. Since then, Sammy has been promoted from a service advocate to Target security specialist and continues to do everything he can to delight guests and deliver joy. Our team is what makes us special. It is how we support families and strengthen our communities every day.
Asked and Answered – A Peek into Store Leadership at Target At Target, we know that incredible guest experiences are shaped by a passionate store team. Sholanda, a General Merchandise Executive Team Leader in Little Rock, Arkansas, understands how intentional decisions shape these experiences every day and shares insights from her work. Q: You started as an hourly TM and are now an ETL. What were the most important steps or decisions that helped you grow into leadership over the past 20 years? A: Starting as a cashier and growing into an ETL role over the past 20 years, the most important steps in my development have been my willingness to learn, my consistency, and my ability to take on challenges. Early in my career, I focused on mastering my role and building strong relationships with both guests and my team. As I grew, I made it a priority to seek feedback and apply it, even when it was uncomfortable. Q: Outside of work, what are you most passionate about, and how do you balance work-life balance? A: I balance my personal life and leadership responsibilities by being intentional with my time and building strong routines both at work and at home. Outside of work, I prioritize spending time with my son, attending his football games and being present in those moments as well as giving back to my community as a volunteer cheer coach. Our heart and hands go out to Hawaii Even before the Kona storms hit Hawaii last month, our crisis response, store and supply chain teams were doing all they can to help. Thanks to their efforts, our T-3032 flow center in Mililani sent 18 pallets of water to stores in the area and our T-2660 store in Maui reopened after only 16 days. “Target’s contributions have made a tremendous difference in helping families begin to recover. We are so grateful for your partnership and for the care you’ve shown our community during this challenging time.” — Māhealani Carbonell, Director of Sourcing & Donor Relations, Maui Food Bank For this disaster, we have pledged $100K to non-profits across the state like the Hawaii Community Foundation, Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, Hawaii Food Bank and more. While T-2660 was closed for repairs, team members loaded trucks with more than 70 pallets of donated food for the Maui Food Bank. See our team members in action across the islands and the store’s before and after below. This is what it looks like to lead with action. To meet urgency with coordination. To serve with purpose. Proud of our teams across Hawaii who continue to show up and make a real impact where it counts.

Asked and Answered – A Peek into Sustainability at Target Meet Rachel S., Lead Program Manager in Property Management, who answers some questions about her recent experience opening the new Delano, CA solar store. Q: Tell me about yourself, how you came to Target, and why you stay at Target. A: I’ve been with Target 18 years. I’ve had a lot of different roles, which is part of what keeps me here. I’ve led solar development on the Energy team for 6 years now. This industry is always changing in different ways, which is why they call it the solar-coaster. I’ve led over 100 rooftop solar installations at our stores and distribution centers. Our brand new Delano, CA store is one of the first new stores that we’ve opened with solar. Q: What were the key sustainability goals and operational outcomes your team prioritized for the Delano Net Zero energy store? A: There is a new California Energy Code that requires solar and storage when opening a new store. Rather than simply meet the basic requirements, we wanted to do something special at Delano. We used consumption patterns from similarly-sized stores in nearby locations to help us estimate the anticipated annual electricity consumption at the site. A lot goes into the behind the scenes to building a store, especially one as special as Delano, CA. And team members like Rachel help power important initiatives, like our commitment to zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
Where Design Shapes Leadership: Target x TIME This year, we are stepping onto a new stage as TIME’s inaugural design partner, bringing our point of view on style, design and accessibility to four of TIME’s most influential franchises: Women of the Year, TIME100 Sports, TIME100 Creators and TIME100 Next. This partnership reflects a clear goal - use design to elevate how people gather, connect and engage with ideas. This is not just about aesthetics. It’s about creating spaces that invite more people in and shape meaningful experiences. That vision came to life at the 2026 TIME Women of the Year Leadership Forum and Gala. We partnered with TIME to design an environment that balanced elevated style with comfort and approachability, encouraging connection from the moment guests arrived. “[At Target] creativity is valued and our ambition is supported. Every woman in this room and those being recognized this evening are also designers. Designers of movements, designers of narratives, designers of new standards. Whether through music, film, entrepreneurship, advocacy or athletics, they are designing or redesigning the future.” – Michelle Mesenburg, Chief Brand Officer, Target Every detail was intentional. From furnishings to immersive environments, the experience reflected the energy, creativity and leadership of the honorees. Explore the full story and hear from Michelle below.

Finding Strength After Tragedy: Sabina’s Story Three and a half years ago, Sabina E. joined Target during one of the most difficult periods of her life. Less than a year after losing her second child to GALD and CMV, she stepped into a new role while navigating grief, motherhood, and a major life change. Shortly after accepting the position, she learned she was pregnant again. What happened next defined her experience. When Sabina was onboarding, her team showed up immediately and her manager led with empathy and clarity. “I always felt like I needed to prove myself, but I never had to at Target. My team rallied around me, and my leader reassured that they would take care of me. And they did.” -Sabina E, Senior Marketing Manager That support removed pressure Sabina thought she had to carry. During a high-risk pregnancy that required ongoing hospital visits, flexibility allowed her to stay present both inside and outside of work. She delivered results while managing real life challenges without compromise. Beyond her team, community also made the difference. Through the Disability and Mental Health employee resource group, Sabina found spaces for connection, including grief support groups and peer networks. These were not surface level resources. They created real belonging. Sabina E’s takeaway is simple. Culture shows up in moments that matter. And at Target, support is not a statement. It is action.
