Pros

The benefits are currently good, but there is a merger of the two sides programs at the end of 2017 coming up. So, who knows what the final result of that will be? There is OTO instead of PTO, which has it's own pros and cons. 401k on the Genesys plan is full vesting on 50c to every $1 up to $4,000 each year, which is way better than anything ININ offered. They are a leader in CX (having seen behind the curtain you have to wonder how), so growth wise they should be stable enough to work for.

Cons

When Genesys acquired ININ it was touted as a merger, and a merger of equals. That there would be an org structure that reflected that equality, and that there was real commonality in our cultures. Genesys even brought in Bain consultants during the initial phase. Reality is, Bain was a waste of money, there is no commonality between ININ and Genesys cultures, and it was a takeover not a merger. The combined org structure was a joke. There is not a single C-suite ININ employee left, a large number of the VP's have left, and there is a steady stream of disillusioned highly talented individual contributors who are taking decades of knowledge away with them. The Genesys director level, for the most part have inflated titles, and do work at a manager or team lead level rather than planning, vision, and setting direction. There are directors that have no direct reports, if that gives any indication of the over inflated titles floating around. Supposedly Indy is/was supposed to become the new G&A hub for Genesys, however the newly hired CFO is in Daly City (having moved from NY), what is that supposed to say? More merger spin to try and keep folks around until all the business systems are integrated after which there be a lot less need for some positions? After 5 months of being Genesys you can see the push for low cost Russian and Indian employees, and it will be interesting to see with Trumps H1-B changes whether there is an acceleration in movement of jobs to outside the US, rather than bringing them in. There are whole floors in Daly City that the primary languages are Russian, then Ukraine, then English. Not a bad thing for a multi-national company, but that would be more expected in say the St.Pertersburg office than California. The company is on the hook to a number of equity companies who are going to be wanting a return on their investment sooner or later. Running the company as cheaply as they can get by with seems to be the game plan.

Pros

My job and my team are great, many people I work with are great and very knowledgeable.

Cons

President is a joke, he stands up in all hands meetings and tells employees if they aren't happy after management took away a bunch of benefits that there must be something wrong with the employees and they need to quit. CPO is delusional, she thinks we have a great culture and that upper management cares but they just keep making things harder and taking away the positives of working here. And she lashes out at people with differing opinions (and real experiences that don't jive with her delusion). Too much upper management. It is clear that Genesys doesn't care about their employees if they keep hiring more c-level employees and vp's while laying off hundreds of sales, finance, and engineering. Compensation sucks! Interactive compensation was decent and at one point was the industry leader in Indianapolis, after the acquisition, things have only gotten worse. We get basically no raises, bonuses are delayed over a year after you should have received them and then they are adjusted based on the company objectives that employees have no control over. The NPS is a joke, they tell you how it works and then expect you to only give 9's and 10's. If you are giving 7's and 8's then you are doing it wrong.

I see you have many concerns and issues; I am not really sure I can address them all in one brief response. To pick one, I believe our Indy site has a lot of great benefits, including an on-site health clinic, a subsidized café, and a gym. Although my husband might agree with you in saying I’m occasionally delusional, I truly believe we have an incredible culture. If I disagree with your point of view on this, I’m very sorry that you feel that is argumentative. My door is always open, as is that of the rest of the leadership team, and we welcome the conversation - you bring up some good points that I think are easily addressed. US is a joke

Pros

Pros...yeah right. Keep dreaming. Pros went away in December 2016

Cons

Everything. Read through the reviews, almost every positive review is either international, someone that is outside the US, or someone that is not directly related to building the product (i.e. non development). For those of us in the trenches, Genesys sucks. Pay sucks (<2% in 2 years since the buyout), communication sucks (just found out about hidden benefits that new employees get told about that no one else knows, seriously wtf), leadership sucks (talk out their butt about all these grand future plans and have no idea what is really going on with the product constantly having issues and no stability, but lets do more and make it even more unstable).

Thank you for your candid and thorough feedback. We try to be as transparent and open as possible. I would encourage a conversation with someone (I’d be happy to talk) to discuss some of these concerns. Our recent eNPS scores in Development have been very positive and trending higher. We have various local recognition programs, and there are company sponsored one’s as well. Of course, we can always do better in this area in my opinion, but it is up to us as employees to help drive those ideas in all areas, not just expect it to happen if we don’t talk to people about what we need/want. Our benefits are posted publicly (https://mygenesysbenefits.com/) and we try hard to communicate to everyone what they are. Indianapolis has a FREE onsite health clinic for employees which perhaps is not advertised as well as it could be, so we will work to improve on that visibility. Additionally, we are directly addressing that employees are “stretched too thin” and have many open development jobs in Indianapolis currently. We know we’re not perfect, so all feedback is useful to help us continue to iterate and improve. Thank you for taking the time to share yours.
