Pros
It's difficult to capture how many pro's this job had. Work life balance, kind people that care about the humans that they work with, a product that solves a real problem and helps people, a fun sale cycle that includes both long and shorter term deals.
I loved my managers, my colleagues. I loved that we had a policy on working within hours, including agendas on meetings, pre-reads before team calls.
This was a culture that fostered kindness, strategy, thoughtfulness, growth, success. All sustainably.
It's easy for the good stuff to go out the window when things get hard.
Glassdoor was a place where everyone walked the walk.
Cons
Pay could have been better. But I wasn't bad.
The layoffs and merger into indeed - that's the big one. I think that this product is purposeful and powerful. I also think that this absorption was done in a foolish and non-strategic manner. My hope is that the product does not suffer, and thus the candidates do not suffer as a result.
This should be a cautionary tale to any leadership, whose decision is to measure profit and ignore humanity. Laying people off as a sign of bad leadership.
