What a blast introducing R2, R3 and R3X to the world this month.
“We’re excited to welcome visitors to our latest Rivian space in Atlanta. This one is particularly exciting as it is close to our future R2 manufacturing campus. This Space will serve as a valuable hub to connect with the surrounding community.” – RJ Scaringe, Rivian CEO and Founder. Click the link to find out more.
Excited to announce our investment to convert Eastern Kentucky’s Starfire coal mine into an 800 MW solar farm in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and site developer BrightNight. As we accelerate the transition to EVs, it’s critical to partner on responsible ways to power them.
As part of our commitment to preserving and protecting the natural world for future generations, Rivian continues to support a new Public Lands Rule now under consideration by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Along with over 100 other companies, we signed a letter submitted by The Conversation Alliance to BLM, the Biden Administration and members of Congress. The proposed rule would put conservation and recreation on an equal footing with other uses, such as grazing and development. This would protect multiple uses while promoting the protection and restoration of public lands for future generations. It also complements another proposed rule to better enable renewable energy development on BLM land, which Rivian supports as well. “Public lands make up much of the landscapes America is renowned for—the environments that inspire hundreds of millions of visitors annually, serve as habitats for thousands of species and inspire our sense of adventure. As a part of our mission to keep the world adventurous forever, Rivian stands alongside many diverse voices in supporting the BLM’s proposed Public Lands Rule in rebalancing land use priorities by codifying conservation as one of the formal uses for our public lands,” said Anisa Kamadoli Costa, Chief Sustainability Officer of Rivian. On a warm summer day in Normal, Illinois, the air was filled with excitement as Rivian hosted its much-anticipated Friends and Family Day. This special event, filled with joy, laughter, and the celebration of family, was held over the weekend as a heartfelt "thank you" to the hard-working community of Rivian employees who call Normal, IL home. Rivian transformed its manufacturing facility’s front yard into a lively fairground, bustling with fun and smiles. Families enjoyed a wide range of engaging activities: from crafts, rock climbing, and a petting zoo to local sweets and treats, and of course, tours of the factory and interactive displays showcasing the R1T, R1S, EDV, and Rivian Service Van. As exciting as all the activities are, sharing your work with your family is one of the best parts of Friends and Family Day. Wide-eyed with wonder and beaming with pride for their parents, employees’ kids crawled over vehicles and hopped into the driver's seat of Rivian vehicles, enthralled to experience their parent’s world. “I’m so thankful to be part of a company that puts events on for employees, allowing us to bring our loved ones to the place where we build these amazing vehicles, to share in the passion and the adventure that we all work so hard for,” says Adam LaGreca, Production Manager at the Normal Plant.
