Cheers to 100 years! Our parent company, Burris Logistics, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025, a rare event for a family business. Burris Logistics began in 1925 by transporting local produce from Delmarva to Philadelphia and backhauling bread. Since then, Burris Logistics has continued impacting various parts of the supply chain industry, from cold storage to distribution to trucking and beyond. The knowledge and experience Burris Logistics has gained over the last century in food distribution, and cold storage has played a huge role in our continued growth at R.W. Zant and Honor Foods. Autumn brings our annual benefits fair! Preventative health screenings were offered on-site to our Team Members in a convenient and accessible way. It was a wonderful opportunity to prioritize health and well-being.
We recently held our annual Family Picnic for Team Members! We had delicious food, great giveaways, and endless fun, with over 300 attendees. The Team even held a soccer tournament, and the RW Zant Team won the championship! Overall, it was a great day to relax, connect, and celebrate together. Last week, Team Members were invited to compete in a fun Logistics Olympics relay race. They created teams of three people and took on six logistics-themed challenges while learning fun facts about our parent and sister companies.
