Employee Spotlight – Andrea Trejo, RN Trauma PCU, Banner University Medical Center - Tucson, AZ Andrea’s Banner Journey began in the Diamond Children’s gift shop in 2010. Later, through a program offered by the hospital, she became a Patient Care Technician. Her passion for patient care grew and through hard work, and the support of her co-workers, she became an RN in 2018. She now works on a Trauma Progressive Care Unit in our new state-of-the-facility on the Tucson campus. Andrea shared, “This is my first year as an RN and I could not have asked for a better unit to work on. I am inspired by my talented co-workers daily! I plan to continue my education to become a BSN. Employee Spotlight - Stacie Marquez, RN-Medical-Surgical, Banner Health Ogallala Community Hospital, Ogallala Nebraska.Stacie’s Banner Journey began in 2012 as a CNA. Over the years, she discovered a passion for teaching and obtained her instructor certification for Basic Life Support. In 2016, she was the recipient of The Caring Kind Award from the Nebraska Hospital Association. That same year, she started nursing school to become an RN. She shared, “My Banner family helped me in so many ways while I was in school!” After graduation, she transitioned to a New Grad RN position, which provided her a streamlined orientation and phenomenal preceptors who helped her grow into her new role. Stacie added, “The most exciting part of working at a rural critical access hospital is that every shift I have the opportunity to help in different areas (like the ER and L&D). Employee Spotlight – Colleen White, RN Cardiothoracic IMCU, Banner University Medical Center – Tucson, AZ. Colleen’s Banner Journey began in 2018 when she transitioned from a small rural hospital to Banner Tucson’s large teaching hospital. While working on 4NE, (a Cardiothoracic IMCU), Colleen gained experience in caring for transplants and cardiac-assist device patients. Capitalizing on the educational opportunities Banner and 4NE offered, Colleen advanced to become a charge nurse as well as, a preceptor to nurses newly hired to the unit. In addition to practicing full-time and attending school, she is also a member of the Shared Leadership Council. Colleen is continuing her formal education in a Family Nurse Practitioner program, and she continues to enjoy working on 4NE.
