She transferred to Medical Surgical Observation (1NW) later that year and took on the Charge RN role after being on unit for about 3 months. In addition, Melissa was a preceptor for new hires to the unit. In January of 2019, Melissa completed her BSN and was promoted to the RN Manager role. She also participates on multiple facility committees. Melissa shared, “I love working on the observation unit and with the staff. It is a small unit and we work well as a team! I enjoy the fast pace and the variety of patients. Since coming to 1NW I have felt supported and encouraged by my management team as well as my peers.
