Pros

I've gotten multiple raises and promoted quickly. All of my bosses have been amazing and since I'm a hard worker it has paid off! Always have opportunities for overtime.

Cons

Not enough pay for the responsibilities given. Sometimes if one person calls in you're understaffed. Depending on your work ethic you can get unmotivated.

Pros

Fast paced work environment, allows for innovation and independent thinking. Up to date with current changes in pharmacy practice Opportunities for management positions if you're up for the challenge.

Cons

Lack of help during the busy times of the year, customer service becomes very demanding and support staff can be difficult to work with.

Pros

The culture at the manager level and below can be excellent. The work can be very rewarding. I loved my job because of my coworkers and I was lucky with my work. I left for a huge pay increase, better benefits, an office and a better commute.

Cons

The pay is terrible and promotions are too slow to recognize the very best people. You can imagine what it's like if you're merely good at your job. Bonuses can (and do) get cut in half or eliminated entirely, regardless of your personal rating. Stores are underpaid and understaffed. Be wary of old company reviews. The good old days are gone. The company was taken over by Alliance-Boots in 2014. All executives were fired or chased away. Americans haven't fared well in the change. Stores are closing. Almost the entire c-suite leadership is now from London and they seem to resent the move. The CEO is an Italian billionaire that convinced the old Walgreens to buy his company for $9.4 billion...then took them over. To be fair, it was a brilliant move, WAG had some bloat and Pessina has a global vision. Corporate people at all levels have been leaving in droves since 2016. They went to a silly "open workspace" concept for absolutely everyone. Working there is like working in a call center, no matter your department. If you interview, ask how long people you meet have worked there. It's a potential warning sign. Look for signs of understaffing too or you could be sorry. Don't believe them when they use the bonus as an excuse for less pay.
