Pros

-The people and customers I worked with were very nice. -They offer insurance that has good coverage after 3 months of employment. -You can move up quickly due to the amount of turnover. -They do not do any kind of screening when hiring new employees, which makes it very easy to get a job. -You do not need a college degree.

Cons

If you are looking for a job and not a career R2 Logistics is a good fit for you. One of the main selling points at R2 is EVERYONE has the opportunity to make commission. Bring on new business and run 10 loads at 8%-10% you make $1000. I watched multiple people bring on customer after customer and R2 seemed do “forget” to pay people out. Often times it took 3-5months to see any earned commissions. This is not surprising as the higher ups running this company refuse to see the value of recognizing those that go above and beyond both verbally and financially. The turnover on a monthly basis really goes to show that employees are not valued for what they are worth. I had multiple conversations with upper management and was told point blank "everyone is replaceable". The owner of this company has one goal and that is to make money for himself. He could care less about his company but will donate some money to charity to try and make himself look better. Essentially R2 Logistics is run by a group of old CH Robinson Co-workers that think they have a chance making it in the industry. I personally found that many of the people I worked with enjoyed spending most of their time after hours drinking and partying. This is not surprising as far as the industry is concerned however, it is not something I really enjoyed being surrounded with. I personally feel bad if you are a current customer that utilizes R2 Logistics. If you are thinking about applying or working for R2, I encourage you to think twice before accepting a position. As far as company culture goes, every single employee in my office felt overworked and unappreciated. This really hurts the morale of an office and the company as a whole. The expectations that are set by upper management are also very inconsistent and unattainable. A perfect example is the standard they have for bringing on new business. They want all "POD Leaders" calling new customers on a daily basis to grow the customer base. In theory this sounds great and makes sense until you realize the amount of responsibility you have when it comes to managing your team. Every manager throughout the entire company will tell you the expectations that are set are not attainable. There is not enough time in your standard 12-hour work day to fulfill the expectations that are expected. When things are going well and you have a week where you are hitting your expected numbers there is no credit given to that manager or employee. I am thrilled I never had to take on the responsibility of a “POD Leader” as they all seem to be miserable. In an industry that is fast paced and ever changing, there is nothing wrong with setting standards and expecting employees to meet high expectations. It is true, there could be someone else who may be better suited for this position. I am not talking about those people who are not willing to rise to the challenge. I am talking about those that work tirelessly in an attempt to contribute to the success of R2 logistics. There is no recognition for that work. In fact, there is quite the opposite. It is expected that you have no work/life balance because that is what it takes to get ahead. And even when you’ve fully embraced the lifestyle needed to be successful in this company, it is never good enough. Your work is never done at the end of the day, and there is no such thing as getting into the office too early. Remember, everyone is replaceable. I believe this company will not be successful until they recognize the importance of employee worth and compensating them accordingly. If you are looking for a job where you are willing to be underpaid, overworked, and unappreciated, R2 Logistics would be a great fit for you.

Considering there has been zero turnover in our LA office since its inception and no one working in that office has worked for the company for a couple of years, it is difficult to fully take the claims of this review seriously. Potential candidates looking for a position at R2 Logistics should not either. Our people are valued at R2 and we do several things to thank people for their hard work, which includes; monthly awards for employees in each branch, quarterly team building events, bi-annual dinners celebrating those who go above and beyond, employee of the years awards and anniversary gifts.

Pros

They do provide beverages for their employees and cater lunch at least once a month. Also they recognize the birthdays for the month.

Cons

This company is by far the most unprofessional company that I have ever worked for. They promote from within, which would be nice if they promoted people that are deserving of the promotion and not getting promoted because of their social status in the company and who they have "cozied" up to during their employment time. Employees have been promoted to management roles even though there are formal complaints that have been filed against them for their unprofessional conduct and treatment of fellow employees. Management does not listen when their employees speak unless that employee is someone that they know on a social basis. Employees are consistently held down and treated like they are no-one, just a body that warms a seat and does exactly what they are told but are never to be known or recognized by anyone. Working for R2 Logistics is more like being in high school with a bunch of cliques rather than in a professional, grown-up company that recognizes ALL of its employees, the effort that they put into their job and contributions that they offer to the company. The attitudes are like nothing that I have ever seen. People do not speak to one another, even though they sit right beside each other all day, and when they do speak it is with an attitude that no adult should have towards another adult. The atmosphere is miserable and will literally make you feel sick each day that you have to get up and go to work. I would never recommend this company to anyone who is seeking employment. If you enjoyed high school and all of its "mean girls", cliques and overall abuse and bullying...this is the perfect place for you. If not, look elsewhere!

It has been noted before that the company shows their appreciation for it's employees in a number of different ways; quarterly team building activities, bi-annual Winners' Dinner and annual employee of the year awards which include bonuses. This may overlook the day-to-day gratitude but we also encourage our managers to give due praise when necessary. Any concerns are always welcome during quarterly reviews.

Pros

They give you free coffee, redbull and soda throughout the day. Fairly easy interview process and start to position. Co-workers can be nice.

Cons

Days normally begin at 6:00 AM or earlier and can last well past 4:00 PM. Long hours and a stressful work environment. Poor pay for the amount of work and stress that you are put through. They tell you that they have uncapped commissions, but you never have a chance to make any.
