Toxic company/culture--go make money elsewhere

Pros

- Good product/platform - Free snacks at the office - they will grow and have an exit because that’s the way the industry is headed. - The sales people that are successful come in to warm opportunities

Cons

Change in sales leadership. Get ready for a very bumpy ride. Layoffs are anticipated. The newer Sales in Leadership have ego and arrogance that is second to none. Get ready for disrespect to be labeled as “directness” and “feedback.” The Harness values are out the window, especially “remember the human.” They will lie, cheat, and attack you personally. There is a strong lack of communication. The All Hands Q&A was recently made anonymous, and that was only because people stopped asking questions. Culture is a joke. Tons of churn in the sales team. It will take you at least one year to ramp, not worth the grind and min. of 9 to 12 months to close a deal. There are deals that close in 1-2 quarters, but those are far and few in between. Poor stock refresher for existing employees. They do not want to retain you.

Pros

The culture at Harness is top notch. Coworkers stay engaged and have fun both inside and outside of the office. Everyone is very helpful and responsive. In addition to that, the company provide ample learning opportunities, an amazing product to solve very relevant problems, and a pipeline of growth. The founders are very engaged with the general population of the company as well, which provides a feeling of family more so than what I have typically seen in my career.

Cons

With opportunity comes great responsibility and the pace to onboard and get up to speed within a very diverse technical landscape can feel daunting. The onboarding experience felt a bit chaotic at times and only partially prepares you for work, leaving you with many things to learn around tools and supporting daily activities.

Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to provide this review. I'm sorry your onboarding experience wasn't great, that's on me. You're right, that session we did was a bit chaotic and wasn't our normal onboarding experience. We did learn from it and have since added 3-4 more new sessions for sales engineers to plug the gaps so you're better equipped to do your job.
