Pros

none that I know of

Cons

They hired me online, I did all the necessary online paperwork, testing, etc. I was to start at a certain time and day at a company about 3 miles from me. I would be contracted to IBM to do this work. I showed up, no one there knew anything about us coming in, the "techs" that were supposed to meet me there never showed. I waited in their break room ( the employees were very nice), about 45 minutes. Still no one. I texted my "manager" to tell him about this. He called me and said the client (IBM) cancelled and they were going to call me but forgot because they were in a meeting. It was supposed to be rescheduled. I felt like a fool, told the employees it is rescheduled and I would be back. Well, it has been over a month and I haven't heard anything from anyone there about any work. I have tried to call and I just get voice mail. What makes me the most mad is I gave them all my new hire information!!! I am just glad I didn't fall for the direct deposit info or my passport info that they wanted!

Pros

You get to do nothing at work, if that is what you're into.

Cons

The culture at Collabera is destructive. Within the US, they hire and take advantage of new graduates. They pay you the bare minimum you need to live off of, which is often not enough to cover rent in the cities they have offices located in. During the work-day, you are on the phone the entire day cold-calling. You are being deceptive and tricking candidates into sending their resumes with references. In my entire time at the company, not one of my candidates received an interview. You might think this is due to my experience but I think it is due to the fact that by the time we receive job requirements from clients, they have already been worked by other, quality staffing firms. All good candidates have been sent over by them. If you are having a bad day, no worries, you can just sit at your desk doing nothing. There is no motivation do anything because after all, the odds of your candidate getting an interview are so slim, so why bother even finding candidates? Furthermore, it is so easy to fabricate the metrics that they track that many employees do so. They lie about the number of calls they make, the number of meetings they went on, etc. After work is when the fun really begins! Happy hours on happy hours on happy hours, all paid for by the company. This might some like a pro to some of you - getting drunk on someone else's dime, but as a professional trying to establish him/herself in the workplace, this is unacceptable behavior. I had coworkers get so drunk at company happy hours that they were unable to drive home and slept overnight in the office to ensure they were on-time to work the next day. That is embarrassing. Also the company encourages sexism and racism. If you found a candidate, you were encouraged to find their Facebook to make sure they looked "normal" and were white. If you couldn't find any social media accounts, you were encouraged to set up a time to Skype them so you could see them. This is ILLEGAL!!!!! Not only is it illegal, it is just morally WRONG. As an employee, you were also encouraged to dress to the extremes. The dress code is business professional. This means a suit every day. They also require girls wear HEELS and they would prefer if you showed extra cleavage. I hope that this review is noticed by at least one person and allows them to reconsider. There are other jobs out there and they are worth waiting for. Just because this is the first job offer you received does not mean you should take it. Collabera's turnover is extremely high so the odds of you lasting more than a couple months is slim, so keep looking for something more permanent from the start. They also try and win you over by saying you will get a promotion in the first six months of employment. This is not true. Even if you are given a promotion, it does not come with a raise.

Pros

-team outings/events -fully stocked kitchen with snacks and coffee -nice, fun managers who take you out to bars and Starbucks -good training resources, helpful upper-level management. -everyone is your age (i.e. 22-25 year old business and psych majors) To be honest with you, if you loved the Greek life atmosphere in Uni you would probably fit in here since everyone is a frat bro or sorority sis. The manager will take you out to bars, you will have nerf hoops and a ping pong table in the office etc. It's a pretty chill environment in my honest opinion, almost like college 2.0. A mediocrely decent entry-level position that will give you a sneak peek behind the curtain into how the real world operates and allows you to see if staffing is for you or not.

Cons

Despite what some people have written, I had good experiences with account managers and coworkers. Those who are complaining about gossip and pettiness probably have not worked in competitive sales environments before; this is pretty much par for the course, and Collabera was not the worst I've seen. What did make them bad was their business model - you essentially cold call candidates based off resumes that you find through their database and try to close them at the lowest rate possible to meet GPM margins. The problem is they have an offshore team in India working on these leads around the clock, so by the time you get them they're stale. The worst thing about this company is the transparent fakeness; they try to play it off as if they are really in this line of work to "help people find jobs because everyone knows how it feels to be unemployed." This is utter nonsense. Your position is all about numbers. Your Indian overlords will call you at the end of the workday (which btw is 8-5 on paper but 7:30-6 if you want to excel, plus additional time on evenings and weekends following up on leads.) to chide you if you don't meet your metrics. As a result, many of your coworkers will admittedly cheat and sometimes flat out BS to meet metrics just to nail the promotion (which is the final destination fyi, comes with a little base salary bump and commission increase). All said and done, expect to put in close to 60hours/week but log only the standard 40 into your time sheet on Friday. This is why they pay you a salary. When you do the math you realize you're not even making all that much and could do better elsewhere. The cream of the crop will find this out first and bounce, so you will see a high turnover rate. Overall, if you have a decent head on your shoulders and did well in school you will quickly realize you are wasting your precious time with Collabera. 4/10 would not recommend!
