I interviewed for an SRE position at the Cboe Global Markets Japan branch in Tokyo (formerly Chi-X Japan) Overall the process was lengthy but a good experience. The interviewers were friendly throughout the entire process. In total there were 5 rounds: Round 1 : Initial screening with the regional SRE Manager, where we talked mostly about my background and a couple technical questions during the last 15 minutes Round 2 : Technical Interview with Senior SRE in Chicago. Asked a number of questions on Linux, SQL, and general CS questions. Round 3 : Take home assignment asking to parse a sample of their TCP pitch data. Given about a week to complete. Honestly, I enjoyed this assignment. Round 4 : Technical Interview with a Senior SRE Manager in Chicago. Was similar to the Round 2, and I think this round was a little unnecessary. Round 5 : Final Interview with the CTO and CEO of the local branch Got a good impression of the engineers and company through these interviews. Really only declined the role because I got another offer that aligned more with my future goals around the same time
