      Sales Development Representative (SDR) Interview

      Nov 10, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Anaplan

      Interview

My interview experience with Anaplan was nothing short of exceptional. From the very first touchpoint, the process felt personal, thoughtful, and genuinely uplifting. I never felt like just another resume in the stack — the team truly took the time to understand who I was and helped bring out my best. Tracy (Recruiter) set a strong foundation by providing clear expectations, guidance, and consistent support. She made the journey feel seamless and encouraged me every step of the way. My conversation with Jacob during the second interview was equally impressive. It felt collaborative rather than transactional — more like a conversation about mutual fit and potential. His approachable style helped me showcase my strengths naturally and confidently. The mock call with Max and Ashley was another highlight. It was not only interactive and fun, but also one of the most thoughtfully structured assessments I’ve experienced. They created an environment where I could demonstrate my skills while sharpening them with constructive, real-time feedback. It showed how invested Anaplan is in nurturing talent, not just evaluating it. What stood out most was how the process elevated my abilities. Anaplan didn’t just assess me; they provided tools, structure, and encouragement that helped me present my best self. The entire journey was smooth, supportive, and encouraging. I’m grateful to share that I ultimately received the offer — a reflection of both the thoughtful evaluation process and the company’s commitment to bringing out the strengths of their candidates. I walked away from every step feeling more prepared, more confident, and more excited to join the team. It’s clear Anaplan values people, collaboration, and growth. I highly recommend exploring opportunities with them.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Just to clarify why I describe the interview process as difficult: the difficulty comes from the level of effort, intention, and growth-mindset required to succeed. You have to genuinely want the role, be willing to put in the work, and stay open to learning throughout each step. Anaplan provides helpful structure and guidance beforehand so you know what to expect, and after the mock call they offer constructive feedback that helps you reflect and sharpen your approach. During the mock call itself, the responsibility is on you to perform — which is what makes it both difficult and rewarding. You’re expected to take what you’ve learned, apply it in real time, and show initiative. In short, the process is difficult not in a negative way, but because it requires preparation, adaptability, and a willingness to get after it. It’s a fair, growth-oriented experience that ultimately helps you elevate your skills.

      Interview

My experience with the interview process with Anaplan has been extremely positive. They will send you an email with information about each stage of the interview and how to prepare. I was fortunate enough to be connected with Tracy Hoel. She is someone who willing to go above and beyond if you put in the effort. She won't hesitate to give you advice and is willing to work with you throughout the whole process. You can tell she is someone who is passionate about her role and wants to see others succeed. The whole process is straight-forward and efficient, and they do a good job on getting back to you in a timely manner. I've personally interviewed at quite a few companies but the interview process at Anaplan was the best by far.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Anaplan (Minneapolis, MN) in Dec 2025

      Interview

The interview process at Anaplan was well-structured, transparent, and thoughtfully paced over approximately six weeks. It began with an initial phone screen with the recruiter, Tracy, who clearly explained the role, team structure, expectations, and overall interview timeline. Communication throughout the process was consistent and proactive. The next stages included one-on-one interviews, a role-play exercise with feedback, and interviews with senior managers. Each interviewer was well prepared, had clearly reviewed my background, and asked thoughtful questions related to my SDR experience, outbound prospecting strategy, KPI management, and collaboration with Account Executives. The final two interviews were conducted by the VP of Sales Development and the RVP of the Enterprise Sales team. All interviews felt conversational while still being thorough and appropriately challenging. I also completed skills-based and personality assessments, which felt relevant to the role and aligned well with the company’s culture. Throughout the process, I was given opportunities to ask questions and received clear guidance on next steps. Overall, the process balanced rigor with a strong candidate experience. I felt respected, well-informed, and supported at every stage, and it gave me a clear understanding of both the role and Anaplan’s culture before accepting the offer.
