Our Promise: Transparency & Trust

At Glassdoor, we're all about giving you the real scoop on workplaces. We empower you with the insights you need to make smart career moves, and we equip employers with the tools to build their best brand. To make that happen, we're serious about keeping our content authentic, our moderation fair, and your anonymity protected.

Real Reviews, Real Experiences

How do we make sure every review on Glassdoor is legitimate? We've got a multi-step process that combines advanced technology, smart algorithms, and human moderators. We're always on the lookout for anything fraudulent—fake reviews, impersonations, or folks trying to game the system.

We have tough rules against anyone trying to cheat, whether you're a job seeker or an employer. For example, you can't post multiple reviews for the same company, and employers can't push or pay people to write reviews. We treat all content fairly and stay neutral in disagreements, so you can trust that what you read reflects genuine experiences.

Why Content Gets Removed (and Why It Doesn't)

Our content removal policies are designed to keep the platform honest, plain and simple. We don't remove reviews based on special requests or payments. We only take content down if it goes against our Community Guidelines, which prohibit harmful, fraudulent, or non-compliant posts. And no, employers absolutely cannot pay us to remove negative reviews—this would undermine our credibility!

While we generally don't remove reviews just because they're old, we also don't act as fact-checkers in disputes. We only step in if something is clearly false, based on independent, reliable sources.

Protecting Your Voice (Anonymously)

Your anonymity is incredibly important to us. We want you to feel comfortable sharing honest feedback without worrying about payback. When someone asks for a reviewer's identity, our answer is always no. If there's a legal challenge, we strongly defend your First Amendment right to speak anonymously.

While anonymity isn't always absolute (in rare legal cases where a review violates specific legal rights, a court might force disclosure), Glassdoor actively fights against those requests. Plus, we don't allow employers to pressure employees into showing their reviews or writing them on company equipment. Your privacy matters.
